Gossip Girl: The Return of the Drama

Gossip Girl: The Return of the Drama, No one is more excited than me about the return of Gossip Girl. At least, no one over the age of eighteen. It’s been on hiatus for way too long, and they jumped off their spring season with a bang Gossip Girl Full Episode.

First, the not so exciting and/or missing developments. Nothing happened with Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). As a matter of fact, Vanessa didn’t grace us with her presence at all. Dan had one small, intelligent nugget of advice to give Nate (Chace Crawford). I have to say, I didn’t miss them. The other story failing to pique my interest is Rufus (Matthew Settle) and Lily’s (Kelly Rutherford) floundering marriage. She finally confessed to kissing her ex-husband, but that it meant nothing and she wants to work things out with Rufus. Rufus, in an uncharacteristic moody and unforgiving moment, walks out on her. And straight into bed with another woman? Wha…? Not only is it sort of lame story wise, the action doesn’t jive with Rufus’ character. That said, I don’t actually care.

Second, and marginally more interesting, is the budding drug running relationship between Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and the rich Belgian socialite. He needs a way to smuggle drugs into an ambassador dinner, and she finally finds a money-making outlet for her sewing expertise by fashioning a jacket that hides pills. Amazing what you can figure out when you put your mind to it. At the last minute, Serena (Blake Lively) calls and Belgian boy decides to go with her instead. He has some secret, boarding school fantasy of being with her that I either forgot about or didn’t care enough to remember. Jenny is upset and crashes the party with Nate. She and Nate spend a lot of time together, no?

Third, and second best, is Serena and Nate’s attempt to take their new relationship ‘slow’. They succeeded, if by slow they meant having sex within the first five minutes they spend together. Very Serena. At the advice of both Dan and Blair, they each pull back and decide to try the slow thing again, which is how they end up at the fancy dinner on the arms of other people. Once again, they end up having sex. This time in a closet. Keep it classy, S. Keep it classy. I don’t see this relationship going anywhere on the show.

Ali Fedotowsky to Star as The Next Bachelorette Last night after The Bachelor finale, this season's Ali Fedotowsky was announced as the next star of The Bachelorette on the "After the Final Rose" filler reunion special.

Ali became a fan favorite on The Bachelor and even made Jake's top four, but left of her own volition following their successful "hometown date" in Williamstown, Mass.

She said she was worried about getting fired from her job and left. Then just a week later, she asked to return but Jake Pavelka wasn't having it. She was heartbroken.

Looks like Ali Fedotowsky got over it, though, as she ultimately quit for an even better reality TV role. Perhaps she coveted or was offered The Bachelorette all along ...
